Apple Pressing Day – Saturday 26 September 2026

 

Join us for a delightful afternoon filled with fun and festivities at our annual Apple Pressing Day celebration. It will be held on the village green in the afternoon (exact timings to be decided) This year, we invite you to immerse yourself in the charm of Plumpton Village as we celebrate the apple harvest, albeit after a hot summer there are not as many apples as the bumper harvest in 2026.  Plumpton and East Chiltington beekeepers will also be selling local honey to enjoy. 

Meet your neighbours and make new friends while indulging in delicious homemade refreshments including apple crumbles to take home. Mark your calendars for Saturday 26 September 2026 between 2 and 4pm and be part of our vibrant community spirit. Together, let’s create unforgettable memories in our lovely village.

New Years Day Walk – Friday 1 January 2027

 

Enjoy a walk in our wonderful Countryside around Plumpton with your family and friends and walk off the excesses over the Festive period.

A community led walk each year, going in the direction of the different points of the compass.  In 2027, the walk will be going North and this year, we can guarantee that you will need wellington boots as its going to be muddy!  Plumpton Village Society will provide free mulled wine, non alcohol free alternative and festive nibbles half way through the walk to give you the energy to keep going to the end.

Meet at the Station at 10.30 am or at the Fountain Inn at 10.45 am where will turn down the pathway to the side of the pub to go out into the fields and head North. We will return to the village on the footpath that comes out just below Glencove House at the North of the village. Enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views. 

Strawberry Fair – Saturday 12 June 2027

At Plumpton Village Society, we believe in the power of community and the joy of coming together.  Join us for our next exciting event, the Plumpton Village Strawberry Fair, on Saturday 12 June 2027 at the Village Green between noon and 4pm. This annual celebration promises a day of laughter, games, and local talent.

From traditional fairground games from local clubs and societies to live music, dancing and a dog show at the Bandstand Arena, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Bring your family and friends to explore the various stalls and find out what activities are available to you in this wonderful village. Don’t miss the chance to participate in our fun competitions and raffles, with fantastic prizes to be won. Let’s celebrate the spirit of Plumpton together and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
